Carnelian is a formation of molten lava rock crystalized over a million years ago ! It is part of the silica mineral quartz family, also in the red chalcedony family. Red chalcedony was one of the first stones turned into beads in 5,500 B.C.

     In ancient Egypt, Carnelians were actually buried in the tombs to help with crossing over to the afterlife.It is found throughout the world, but one of the most prominent mining sites in the world is located in the Gujarat region in India.

Carnelian has been said to promote health. It enhances the life force in the body and encourages well-being. It can help with fatigue, release of stress and heals the body and the mind.
